Traditional vs Remote working?
I believe that working remotely can be more efficient and the team can be more productive! (for some businesses). Or do you prefer to have your team where you can see them as more of a control mechanism?
Since lockdown I have been working with 'control by goal' rather than by hours worked. The team is motivated to complete their tasks faster so they can take advantage of some extra free time. This does not come as a compromise to quality...they have just worked more efficiently.
Of course there are other elements to be mindful of, it's not just about getting the work done. We need to try and keep the team motivated and not feel isolated, keep the lines of communication open and have a few social interactions as well.
Virtual coffee and a chat or lunchtime virtual quiz for example.
I believe that working remotely in some way forces better decision making, and can increase efficiencies and effectiveness. Ask my team :-)
